What is
Grammar Challenge?

WishWin’s Grammar Challenge is an opportunity for students to learn and understand sentence structures, rules, and patterns. This is designed for students in Grades 1-10, helping them learn the nuances of punctuation and grammar rules to aid them in their preparation for competitive exams (e.g. SAT, ACT) and improve their written communication skills.

Grammar Challenge FAQs

The Grammar Challenge consists of 3 categories or levels

  • Level 1: Grades K, 1, 2, and 3
  • Level 2: Grades 4, 5, and 6
  • Level 3: Grades 7, 8, 9 and 10
  • Logical and critical thinking
  • Effective communication skills
  • Building self confidence
  • Improve English Grammar skills
  • Study Punctuation Rules
  • Learn the rules of the sentence structure

The Grammar Challenge will consist of written sections only.

The test will consist of free response questions and multiple-choice questions.

The questions of Grammar Challenge will be tailored to the category, with some extra challenging questions. The objective of WishWin’s Grammar Challenge is to test the abilities of students with questions about various grammar structures.

Grammar Challenge will be a written test/exam consisting of about 30 questions for a total score of 100 points.

The overall exam duration will be around 1 hour and 15 minutes.

The questions of Grammar Challenge will be tailored to the category, with some extra challenging questions. The indicative topics document may be downloaded upon registration for the contest.

Parents will not be allowed in the room during the Grammar Challenge exam. Parents may help the students with the set up and are requested to leave the room during the entire course of the exam.

Grammar Challenge Rules and Guidelines

Grammar challenge : Rules

The following rules are applicable for the WishWin Grammar Challenge Competition

  • Grammar Challenge consists of 3 levels
    • Level 1 : Grades K, 1, 2, 3
    • Level 2 : Grades 4, 5, 6
    • Level 3 : Grades 7, 8, 9, 10
  • Grammar Challenge for all the levels will consist of written sections only.
  • The written test will consist of 30 questions
  • All the contestants will get the same questions.
  • Online Logistics and Honor System
    • The entire competition will be held online. During the competition, students must not seek help from any external resources. This includes, but is not limited to, other people (e.g. parents, friends), any devices (e.g. phone, computer, additional computer or monitor), or any software.
    • Students should choose a quiet and well-lit room for the competition.
    • Students should install a secondary device (a phone or a laptop placed behind at a distance) that shows the room and the student's computer.
    • While taking the online written test, students must not switch browser tabs or open other websites/software/files on their device.
    • During the competition, students are required to be in front of a webcam, and their physical movements and operations on the computer screen will be continuously recorded.
    • Parents should not be in the same room as the student.
    • Organizers may ask a student to show the entire room if they have any questions
    • Ultimately, this competition is an honor system and we rely on the integrity of the students to uphold the fairness of the competition.
    Set-up for the Competition
    • Students are required to check-in before the competition. This will ensure students have their set-up and they are ready to take the written test on the day of the competition seamlessly.
    • The organizers will provide time slots for check-in.
    • Students will be provided a link for taking the test and two zoom links for the set-up.
    • Students should join the competition using the online links provided by the organizers.

Grammar 2024 Results

Congratulations to all the students who participated in the WishWin National Grammar Championship. Their impressive grasp of grammar concepts and their ability to apply them effectively in the contest reflect not only the intelligence of the students but also their diligence and commitment to excellence.

Moreover, the performance of the students serves as an inspiration to their peers and is a source of pride for our entire community. Their achievements not only reflect positively on the students themselves but also bring honor to WishWin.

In the WishWin 2024 Level 1 Grammar Championship, two students were declared the WishWin Level 1 National Champions. They are Roopali Palla and Ahdya Vijay with a score of 96% in the Championship. The top three winners are from different states in the USA.

In the WishWin 2024 Level 2 Grammar Championship, the National Champion Sumedh Kulkarni secured 98%. Three students, Jiya Bhavsar, Rishaan Chatterjee, Tanvi Muppalla secured a score of 96% and became the WishWin Level 1 National Runner-up students. The top four winners are from different states in the USA. This category of students performed exceptionally well with the top 10 students scoring more than 93% in the championship.

In the WishWin 2024 Level 3 Grammar Championship, two students were declared the WishWin Level 3 National Champions. The students are Vidyuth Srinivasan and Rohit Raja, with a score of 95%. The National Champions are both from Texas.
